Ending Homelessness for People Living in Encampments in Canada, December 9 (hosted by CAEH and presented by OrgCode – December 9, 2020) –Presentation (PDF)
Tim Richter of the CAEH and Iain De Jong of OrgCode Inc. will discuss a new draft toolkit on ending homelessness for people living in encampments which can be found here. “Ending Homelessness for People Living in Encampments in Canada” outlines considerations for responding to encampments in a manner consistent with the Right to Housing, respects the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, acknowledges political and public pressures, and never loses sight that housing, with person-centred supports, will be the solution to homelessness for the people living in encampments. The toolkit is designed as a living document and is being released as a draft for discussion. Individuals, organizations and communities are invited to provide comments and feedback.
